Why EC exists
Essence-Ciel was build on a refusal. A refusal to accept that handcrafted precious metal work had to be outsourced, diluted or explained away by marketing. Every piece that leaves this workshop was built by the same hands, on the same bench, from raw metals sourced from certified suppliers. We control the alloy. We draw the wire. We cut the links. We weave the chain. There is no other way to do this and we call it EC.
The Makers - Sebastien Lord & Steve Dionne, Mater Jewellers
Sebastien Lord trained in metallurgy before turning to jewelry. His background is not in design - it is in the science of metals. That distinction matters. Steve Dionne is an entrepreneur and jeweller who decided to join Sebastien on his journey. EC pieces are not made to look heavy. They are engineered to be heavy, balanced and permanent. Every piece that carries an EC serial number is passed through their hands.
